Metal Slug 4 and 5, while good, toned the difficulty down which made for a somewhat disappointing experience when compared to the others although 5 has the best story out of all of them and concludes the story to Metal Slug very well. However, Metal Slug 3 I found to be an absolute pain in the ass as it overstayed it's welcome with a half hour long final level which is ridiculous for an arcade game. The compilation's best games are easily Metal Slug 1, X and 6, making for some of the best run and gun action with a grueling but fair difficulty if played in coop. 5h 52m PlayedMetal Slug Anthology is a compilation of Metal Slug 1-2, X, and 3-6 that is a solid retro run and gun experience.
